Julia Child was an American cooking teacher, author, and television personality. She is recognized for bringing French cuisine to the American public with her debut cookbook, Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and her subsequent television programs.
Little known fact is that she did not have a natural talent for cooking. In fact, she was a self-admitted disaster in the kitchen until she began taking classes at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris.
Prior to her marriage, Child simply fed herself frozen dinners for several years. And during one of her early attempts at making a meal from scratch, she set the oven on fire.
