Göbekli Tepe is the site of an ancient temple built by a hunter gatherer society around 9000 BCE. It consists of 10 ton pillars with artwork carved on them, which were transported 500 meters without the use of the wheel which had yet to be invented. This site also predates farming and writing.
Turkey granted women full political rights before many other nations. Founder of Turkey Atatürk said:”There is no logical explanation for the political disenfranchisement of women. Any hesitation and negative mentality on this subject is nothing more than a fading social phenomenon of the past.”
On 1910, the Mayor of Istanbul exiled 80,000 stray dogs to a small island for them to die. Soon later, a 7.3 magnitude earthquake occurred, which people perceived as a punishment from God for the dogs’ exile, and the surviving dogs were brought back.
