The Monster Study was an experiment designed to induce stuttering in otherwise normal-speaking orphan children. Some of the children were praised for their speech, while others ridiculed and belittled… these children later developed speech problems that lasted their entire life.
An American psychologist at the University of Wisconsin-Madison developed an insane experiment called the “Pit of Despair”, which involved socially isolating young monkeys for up to a year at a time. The monkeys developed psychosis, would cannibalize on their offspring, and also commit suicide.
A lost wallet is more likely to be returned if you have a photo of a baby in it. In a 2009 study, 88% of wallets with a baby photo were returned, followed by wallets with a photo of a puppy (53%), family (48%) and an old couple (28%). Only 15% of control wallets were returned.
